part
of its business development services initiative,
HTDC now offers two nationally-acclaimed programs – FastTrac
Entrepreneurship Programs and the Manufacturing
Extension Partnership Program (MEP). Since FastTrac
is heavily supported by the Kauffmann Foundation
and MEP is a federally sponsored program, HTDC
offers these services at very affordable fees,
making the services available to small and midsize
companies that normally would not be able to
pay for such services.
HTDC also serves the technology business community
through promotional initiatives including tech
portal web site HiTechHawaii.com, the Hawaii
Technology Business Directory, and its partnership
with Honolulu media company, PacificNews.Net.
The
Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program (MEP)
was created in 1988 as part of the Department
of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards
and Technology to help small and mid-sized manufacturing
companies succeed. MEP provides professional
consulting services to any small business that
adds value to a product or service, including
construction, technology, diversified agriculture,
and traditional manufacturing companies in the
areas of improved business processes, increased
efficiency and productivity, and eCommerce. Since
its inception, MEP has assisted more than 149,000
companies through a network of more than 2000
consultants at 400 locations, including Hawaii.

HTDC entered into a strategic
marketing partnership with Pacific News.Net,
a privately-held high technology media corporation
based in Honolulu. Pacific News.Net focuses on
providing cutting-edge news, information and
developments in the technology industry which
targts the Pacific Rim and Hawaii.
The partnership with Pacific
News.Net, allows HTDC to utilize print, radio

in these opportunities benefit from additional
media coverage, the opportunity to hone the company
