Island News Technologies, LLC
Island News Technologies, LLC, formed in 2004, is a Maui-based Qualified High Technology Business (QHTB), recognized as such by the State of Hawaii, Department of Taxation. The flagship product of Island News Technologies is Maui TV News, Maui's first and only professionally-produced weekly television news program. Maui TV News airs across the state of Hawai'i on Oceanic Time Warner Digital Cable Channel 110 on News on Demand, offering Hawai'i 24/7 access to stories that matter to Maui County, and have a statewide impact and/or meaning. Maui TV News is also available worldwide on www.mauitvnews.com, offering 24/7 access to our current program the three most recent editions of Maui TV News as well. The Island News Technologies five-year plan is building a steadily-increasing job base of electronic and internet news professionals. Oceanit Laboratories
Founded in 1985, Oceanit is a diversified research & development company in areas such as marine-based biotechnology, space situational awareness, remote environmental monitoring, biophotonics, and transparent medical monitoring. Applied research efforts included the modeling and prediction of space debris for NASA, ultra high-speed wave-front sensor for the ABL/HEL program for the Air Force, high accuracy orbital positioning technology and adaptive optics for space situational awareness, disruptive ultrasound technology for ballast water treatment, and novel molecular imaging technology to observe gene and protein expression in live human cells. Oceanit's "idea factory" business model produced its first equity funded spin-out at the end of 2001 called "Hoana Medical," which produces a telemedicine platform similar to Dr. McCoy's Star Trek "Sick Bay" bed that continuously monitors a patient's vital signs without any attachments, and sends data wirelessly to the Internet.
