Lester J. Hee, CPA --Accountant
Lester Hee is the owner of a certified public accounting practice that has
five professionals who provide bookkeeping, accounting, and tax compliance/consulting
services primarily to small business clients. Mr. Hee started the firm in
1993 after working 14 years in both the audit and tax practices of an international
accounting firm.
Full-service bookkeeping is one option for clients, while other clients
choose to customize the level of services—these clients might
write their own checks, make their own bank deposits, and reconcile
the bank accounts, but need bookkeeping and accounting assistance to
prepare a general ledger and compile financial statements. The firm’s
professionals utilize computer accounting software programs (QuickBooks,
Quicken, Peachtree Accounting, and MAS 90) either in the firm’s
office or on clients’ computers. Tax services include preparation
of Hawaii general excise tax returns and federal and state income tax
returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, C corporations, and S
corporations. Act 221 provides tax incentives related to Hawaii high
technology businesses and the firm prepares Hawaii tax returns for businesses
and investors that comply with the requirements for obtaining these
tax incentives.
