HTDC commissioned
a study to assess the perceptions, attitudes
and opinions regarding the high technology
sector in Hawaii. The study was conducted
by the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship
at the University of Hawaii and PenteVision
USA. Four key constituencies were surveyed:
high tech companies operating within
the State of Hawaii, firms that provide
specialized services to high tech firms,
organizations that exist to support or
facilitate high tech activity, and government

A Hawaii IT Workforce
Survey was conducted in early 2002 to
gather data on Hawaii’s IT workforce
in terms of skill-sets, number of IT
workers, and companies' IT needs. The
survey was conducted by HTDC with support
from the University of Hawaii Community
Colleges, Enterprise Honolulu, and the
Hawaii Technology Trade Association.

HTDC
periodically conducts and publishes findings
for the State of Hawaii's High Tech Business
Survey. This report contains estimates
by industrial grouping for high technology
organizations and firms in the State of
Hawaii, and features projections for the
number and total revenue for high technology
organizations and firms.
