The itinerary for this meeting includes lightning talks, discussions on ML-related topics, and a project session where we can implement techniques that we learn this evening.
Talk Topics: (1) Title: Generalized Mean for ML In this lightning talk we will examine the generalized mean and see how it relates to machine learning. In particular, we will go over * the definition of the generalized mean * its special cases (harmonic mean, geometric mean, arithmetic mean) * how to use the generalized mean to create a powerful ensemble of models
(2) Title: Visualizations for EDA We will cover basic data visualizations using matplotlib - the open-source library based on (commercial platform) MATLAB. Topics include: * Data visualizations for ordinal and categorical data * matplotlib derivatives and other suited techniques for interactivity
