Overview

The technology and innovation industry cannot survive without a strong labor force equipped to work the rapidly evolving technology environment. TechHIre Hawaii works with employers to ensure the right training programs are being taught in the schools and local coding boot camps. HTDC connects college students and teachers to emerging technology companies through its internship program. Internships are great way to experience the latest tech developments and gain business experience.

Hawaii’s Coolest Companies

President Obama launched the TechHire initiative in 2015. The multi-sector initiative was created to empower Americans with the skills they need through community colleges, and nontraditional approaches such as bootcamps that offer accelerated tech training. HTDC is leading a statewide coalition that aims to train 175 high-tech local workers by the end of 2017 and 400 by the end of 2019.

Overview

It is said that technology jobs 5 years from now don’t exist today due to the revolutionary pace technology is changing.  To keep up with this revolution, HTDC is working with employers and trainers to ensure Hawaii’s workforce stays relevant to the tech community.  TechHire Hawaii is part of a nationwide program for accelerated training for technology jobs.
