he Hawaii SBIR Program (HSBIR) is administered by HTDC and provides matching grants to help Hawaii companies further the development of new products to solve critical issues.
The HSBIR program provides up to 50% match (or up to $75,000) for companies receiving federal Phase 1 SBIR/STTR awards. Companies may also apply for the Phase 0 grant writer reimbursement up to $3,000 for their initial grant application.
Applicants for the HSBIR Phase 1 matching grant must have received the federal Phase 1 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) / Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant or contract to qualify for this program. If you are applying for HSBIR Phase 0 funding, you do not need to win the federal SBIR grant. You will need to provide a copy of your Federal Phase 1 application, proof of Phase 1 submission, and invoice from the grant writer.
