MODULE 1

This module is suited for businesses who are in the early to mid stages of e-commerce website development.

In this class, you will be taught the basics of e-commerce, starting from honing your understanding of the customer digital journey to identifying the most appropriate technical requirements of e-commerce for your business.

Instructor: Brian Dote, Tapiki
He is the founder of Tapiki, a mobile/web application development company. Brian is also the Founding Mobile Engineer at Ecobot. Ecobot is an early stage startup with the only software to bring true efficiency and accuracy to wetland scientists at environmental, natural resources management, conservation planning, engineering, and planning firms serving state and federal DOT, construction, mitigation banking, and oil and gas companies.

Formerly Brian was the Senior Vice President and Director of Mobile and Digital Commerce at Bank of Hawaii and the first Chief Innovation Officer at Mid-Pacific Institute. At Apple, Inc., he led the MobileMe User Interface Engineering team and worked on the iPhone, MobileMe/iCloud, iTunes Music Store, iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, Motion, and OS X. Brian was nominated as a Webby Honoree for web development work at Springfield Town Center in 2009. In 2017, Brian was an honoree in Hawaii Business Magazine’s 20 for the next 20, a list of 20 individuals in Hawaii whose talents, accomplishments, and potential set them apart as emerging leaders in Hawaii.

In this class, you will learn about the components and importance of user experience and user interface (UX/UI) pertaining to e-commerce. This is especially critical if you are embarking on building your e-commerce website for the first time or if you are not getting the sales conversions from visitors to your website.

Instructor: Lita Lea, Hidden Gears
Lita is the Digital Marketing Specialist of Hidden Gears, a Hawaii-based e-commerce firm. She brings over a decade of experience working in digital marketing with a focus on the retail and luxury goods sector. Specializing in site optimization, SEO/SEM, content creation, PPC management and effective ad campaigns, Lita employs a multi-tiered, omni-channel approach in executing digital strategies for brands and businesses.

In this class, you will learn about the essentials of data privacy and practices to ensure that you, as a business owner is adhering to consumers' expectations about how personal information is being managed, as well as protecting yourself from potential lawsuits.

Instructor: Ryan Hew, Hew and Bordenave
Ryan K. Hew is a Partner at Hew and Bordenave and focuses on business law matters, in particular, transactions and compliance work. Specifically, Ryan assists clients forming their LLCs/corporations, buying/selling their business, obtaining licenses and permits, and in general drafting contracts and filings for business matters. He takes a pragmatic approach to dealing with legal issues by spending time educating clients on possible options they can choose from when faced with legal problems for their business deals.

Principally, Ryan works with clients that are in professional fields (such as realtors and dentists), web and application developers and programmers, contractors, professional service providers and consultants, and food and retail services.

MODULE 2

This module is suited for businesses who are new to digital marketing or would like to take a strategic approach target-based content generation.

In this 2-part class, you will first learn about customer segmentation and identifying your target persona. Following which, the instructors will teach you about digital sales funnels and how you can leverage the concept to craft your e-commerce and digital marketing strategy.

In this class, you will be taught the fundamentals and best practices of product photography and videography for your e-commerce website, as well as digital marketing content.

Instructor: Lance Roylo, Hello Momentum
Lance Roylo is a digital marketing content producer with 12+ years of project management and production experience. He has served as the social media manager and content producer for publicly traded corporations and small businesses with a wide array of knowledge of social media tactics and strategies. He is currently the co-founder of the digital marketing agency Hello Momentum, which focuses on content production and social media management.

This module is suited for businesses who are looking to focus on design and visual elements to create an impactful and consistent online presence.

In this class, you will be taught the fundamentals of branding as well as a strategic approach to determine the best design elements for your digital presence on your e-commerce website as well as across social media.

In this class, you will learn how to leverage Canva - an easy-to-use platform for all your design and visual needs from e-commerce web banners to social media posts.

Dale Keep owns Key3Marketing, a marketing firm specializing in digital and social media marketing. Dale has helped several small to medium size businesses by empowering them with the tools and knowledge to master their own marketing. With a degree in Marketing and 32 years in the industry, he has background experience in traditional marketing and in the past decade has become an industry expert in the ever-changing world of digital marketing.

Neal Kido, founder of AkamaiSEO.com, got his start building websites while at the University of Hawaii.
